This week, on July 5th, 2022, the Latvian Furniture Manufacturers Association launched the "Women in the Furniture Industry" campaign.
The campaign launch format was a live discussion aimed at sparking the question – is it possible for women to work and build a career in woodworking and furniture manufacturing?
We had the honor of hosting the discussion participants.
The discussion featured Barbara Freiberga, Vice Chairperson of the Latvian Designers Society, Sigita Liše, Head of the Woodworking Department at Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies, Inguna Sinica, Chairperson of the Latvian Forestry Workers' Union, and our Production Director, Adis Links.
The event was moderated by the charming Ieva Erele.
The topic is being raised. Given the technological advancements of today, women can definitely work in furniture manufacturing! In fact, it is encouraged! Sharing his experience, Aldis Links emphasized that women are diligent and responsible.
